The Women’s Chorale of 171 Cedar
We take great pleasure in performing a wide range of music for treble voices, including much-loved favorites from around the world as well as some lesser-known and original compositions. Our mission is to share the music we love with the widest possible audience and to develop and promote the universal language of music.
The Women's Chorale has been in existence for more than 15 years. We are women of all ages who share a love of singing. We are sometimes self-directed and often perform unaccompanied. For some of our larger projects and to help our musical development, we work closely with conductor, Jennifer Haywood. Recent grant supported projects have included New York Sings! A Composers' Symposium and Voices: A Celebration of the Music in All of Us - The Inclusive Choir Project.
If you are a woman who loves to sing and explore different kinds of music, and who would like the challenge and joy of sharing that passion with a group of other women, please consider joining us. Our regular rehearsal space is at 171 Cedar Arts Center in Corning. Auditions are largely informal, focusing on pitch, blend and willingness to strive for performance excellence.
